Senate registers of Senate resolutions are a Senate record of all resolutions presented before the Senate within a specific session. Resolutions, unlike bills, do not result in new law but can be used by the drafter to accomplish any of the following functions: express policy (clarify legislative intent, commemorate, express feelings on issues of national or state importance); amend Alabama's constitution; amend legislative rules; mandate study items; provide for administrative details; express congratulations, commendation, or sympathy; take action on federal constitutional issues. The Senate resolutions are listed in numerical order, with a description and the name of the member of the Senate who introduced the resolution. Once presented, the resolutions are voted on, and if passed, the date on which it was passed and the word "signed" appears below the resolution description.
